L'Oreal Paris Colorista Wash Out Review

I used the dark blue colour of this dye and I have mixed opinions on it. First of all, it showed up on my light brown but unbleached hair quite clearly, which is a plus of you want to dye your hair but shy away from bleach. However, this dye stained my hair entirely. Once the blue had washed out, I was left with a muddy green colour that would not leave my hair until I caved and bleached it out. This may be because of blue dye itself, which always seems to stain.

I was given a bottle of this by a friend who didn't want it. Usually I use the slightly cheaper Schwarzkopf range, so I was interested to try this one.

It was easy to apply (rub in like shampoo) and I only needed to leave it for 15 minutes. By the time I washed it out my hair was a lovely dark grey-toned blue.

As I wash it and swim in chlorine with it it seems to be fading to a paler aqua green colour. I'm pleased the colour seems to be holding better than previous wash-out dyes I've used.

In future when I want a cheap and easy colour change I'll be getting my mits on this stuff again.

I should have read the reviews before I used this. I wanted a bit of colour for a fun night so I grabbed the Rose Gold from work. It is super easy and quick to apply. I use colour a lot in my hair to cover those horrid greys. After I washed my hair I was really happy with the colour. It had a cute goldy colour to it, however it lasted longer than I thought! I was expecting it to wash put after a few washes but it really stayed. I didn't mind so much, it was a nice change.

I absolutely love Rose Gold and tried this one after using the Colorista bleach.

The packaging is quite cool and funky, with really easy to follow instructions. The tube is easy to apply and I used it all over my hair.

I guess using it so soon after lightening my hair meant the hair was more porous than normal, but this is not a washout colour for me! It says it will fade over a couple weeks but I’m 4 weeks in with NO change.

I’m still loving the colour, and will definitely try it again - but will be super aware that it’s not as temporary as it says.

A friend of mine, with naturally blonde hair, wanted to add some pink to her hair temporarily for her birthday. Since she has quite long, thick hair, we had two use two bottles and even then, it was barely enough. However, the colour looked great and was perfect for a vibrant night out.

As other reviewers have mentioned, it did not wash out straight away but did fade quite a bit so my friend didn't mind at all.

Loved playing with these colours. I found that they were a pleasanter smell compared to other colours I've tried in the past. The colour was nice and vibrant and took ages to fade and it's still in my hair but gone a dull green.

Colours are really nice! The blue one stained my hair green and had to have at professionally colour corrected and cut it out so I dont recommend it. I loved the pastel pink though and would probably use that again. Bottles are so easy to apply the product with and a really nice creamy formula that smells great.

I had my teenage rebellion about 15 years late, and decided to put a DIY turquoise ombre into my caramel blonde hair. It worked really well, save for the turquoise part, which came out a little greener than expected. Good and bright though, and easy enough to fade through.

I went for a second go after the first had faded a bit, and went blonde to 'Turquoise' to 'Denim'. This looked really cool, and has taken ages to fade out definitely longer than the stated number of washes!!

The product is super easy to use, applies onto dry, clean hair, then washes out after around 25 minutes. I personally got to live my best mermaid dreams, then listen to my work colleagues discuss what colours I should try next. Pretty good for the price, and not a lot of commitment required.
